picturepeople #28 : ERASURE

erasure

fools
that we are we think
we can erase and create nothing from something as
“Nothing, suitably disguised as something, [is]
never far from the centre of things” (1) but will forever be
absence. So we paint and draw
where we think we erase,
as art is always the replacement of
something
for
something, and if nothing didn’t exist we would have to invent it.
